DETAILS

Hardbound volume in brown cloth covered boards with gilt title on leather label to the spine.

This is the 1583 edition of the statutes in force from the beginning of the Magna Charta, made in the nine years of the reign of King Henry III until the reign of Queen Elizabeth I.

CONDITION

The volume has been rebound with new blank endpapers and is missing the original title page. The binding is tight and firm. There is mild wear to the extremities including rubbing to the boards and spine. Internally the pages are toned  with the occasional handling mark, isolated spot, and mild water staining to the edges of a few pages. The first few pages have been laid down on archival paper. One page has been repaired and the text is not fully legible. There is some ink writing to the final page and red underlining to the first page of the Generall Table. Overall the volume is in fair to good condition.
