1553 LEAF FROM ENGLISH VERSION OF THE AENEID VIRGIL

Extremely rare leaf from the 1st edition printing of Gavin Douglas translation of the Aeneid by Virgil into Scots English. From "The .xiii bukes of Eneados...translated out of Latyne verses into Scottish metir..." by Gavin Douglas, inprinted in London in 1553.

Last leaf of the Fifth book.

A copy of the title page accompanies the leaf which is housed in an archival display folder.

Measures 6 x 8.5". Very Good condition.
