What is it ?

This is a BASS BIN with a built-in AMPLIFIER.

In one box, the amplification, speaker and filters you need to deliver clear, loud, effective bass frequencies.

This cabinet is well-made from 18mm Ply, finished in hard-wearing textured black paint, with carrying handles on the side, a foam-covered protection grill at the front and all the controls, inputs and outputs on the back.

The DRIVER is an EMMINENCE KAPPA 15 unit, with a perfectly matched 450watt RMS Amplifier. These BASS BINS are manufactired by LD Systems

We like these BASS BINS. They work really well and suit a number of applications. The only downside is that it's heavy!

We package these with different Mid/Top Speakers to meet different needs ....

You can use a pair of them with 10" or 12" Tops
You can use just one with a pair of 8" or 10" Tops
You could use TWO Pairs (two bass bins on each side) with one or two pairs of tops for BIG SOUND
You could always put a couple in your house, turn them up and have all your neighbours complain!

Speaker Efficiency is ultimately measured in 'SPL' (Sound Pressure Level) in dB (decibels). These are rated at a maximum SPL of 128dB - that's good! ... and the sound is clear and useable.

The inputs and outputs on these are STEREO. You can just use one channel if you have two bass bins, or use both if you have one. The outputs then give you the full stereo effect to your Mid/Top speakers - versatile huh?!

Construction

The cabinets are made from 18mm ply and finished with a hard-wearing textured black paint.
Square ‘any angle’ style handles are cut into each side.
The top of each cabinet has a ‘Top-Hat’ fitting for speaker poles.
The front is protected with a foam-covered grill.
A metal panel at the rear has all the inputs, outputs and controls.

Inputs:

Mains - IEC (kettle lead) connector with a fuse and an on/off switch

Audio Signal - TWO XLR Sockets for LEFT and RIGHT input from your mixer.

Outputs:

TWO different sets of Left and Right outputs; one is 'straight through' and has the full audio frequency that came into the speaker. The other set is filtered and so loses the bottom end. Witht he filtered output your Mid/Top speakers don't have to work the bass!

Each set of outputs has Left & Right, but you only use both if you are using just one Bass Bin.

Controls:

Level - this is a volume control for the bass.

Phase Reverse switch.

Indicator Lights:

Power: is is plugged in and switched on?

Protect: lits up when the internal clever stuff has switched off the amp to protect it from you

Signal: flashes to show audio signal

Limit: this is the 'clip light'. If it is on all the time you are putting too much through it it.
