Awareness Bands for Leukaemia Busters.
Leukaemia Busters is a UK-based registered charity whose objective it is to develop new antibody-based magic bullet type treatments for children and adults with currently incurable forms of Leukaemia.
This is achieved firstly through a high quality research and development program to produce and evaluate new antibody-based drugs and secondly through clinical trials in patients to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of such newly emerging drugs.
Research and development activities are conducted at in-house Clinical Trial Support Unit (CTSU) laboratories in Southampton and in The Simon Flavell Leukaemia Research Unit that resides in the University of Southampton School of Medicine. In addition Leukaemia Busters also undertake related work with colleagues in other laboratories in the UK and abroad in pursuit of the common objective of curing patients with currently incurable forms of Leukaemia.
