100g Corinader/cilantro Powder - Essential Curry Spice

100g Ground Coriander powder. Coriander is commonly used in Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, Indian, South Asian, Latin American, Chinese, African and Southeast Asian cuisine. The seeds have a lemony citrus flavour when crushed plus spicy, nutty and organge aromas. One of the main ingredients in most curry powders it really is one of the essential curry spices.   Coriander Chicken


  Ingredients

  Serves 4

  • 4 Chicken Breast in small bite sized pieces
  • 4 tsp Coriander powder
  • One Green or white onion in big chunks
  • 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 250ml Greek style yogurt
  • 1 Finely Chopped Cayenne Chilli
  • 4 Cloves Garlic sliced
  • 1 inch Root Ginger in thin julienne slices
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • Lemon juice to sprinkle over when served

  Method

A lighter and healthier curry dish which is quickly stir fried to lock in freshness and vitality. Heat a wok or balti to a high heat. Add the oil and when hot add the spices, ginger, garlic and chilli for 1 minute then add the chicken and onion and cook until the chicken is just cooked through, stir in the yogurt, warm through and serve with chapatis or Nan breads. The onions should still retain a little crunch and bite.
