High Pressure Sodium (HPS) and Metal Halide (MH) lamps supply much better value than a fluorescent giving approximately ten times the lumen output. Your plants will definitely be able to tell the difference.

HPS lamps are ideal for promoting flowering and fruiting growth while the MH lamps favour vegetative growth. If you are using more than one light mix MH and HPS for the best results.
