Product Description : 100 Czechoslovakian Enamel Pin Badges Collection

• This is a random collection of pin badges that I have put together for anyone who is interested in collecting these pretty pins.
  
  Pin badges (or odznaky as they are called here) were produced by companies and the government to advertise products or celebrate state holidays or industrial achievments.
  
  The phenomenon of odznaky was already popular as far back as the 1900's with military badges and professional affiliation. When Russia dominated Czechoslovakia in 1948 and Eastern Europe was closed to the world, odznaky collecting became more popular than ever.
  
  One can only speculate as to why, but I would imagine a certain amount of pride could be found in the recognition that famous Czech brands continued to survive under harsh communist rule and the Socialist doctrines of work hard for the good of the state and your fellow man may have driven demand.
  
  Whatever the reason, pin collecting was a national hobby that has sadly all but died out now. Companies don't seem interested in manufacturing pins to advertise their products, relying on modern media methods instead.
  
  The collection below contains quite a lot of automotive pins and biking, also mining and steel among others.
