First the plastic (PE) is converted by reaction with oxygen to molecular fragments that are water wettable
and second, these smaller oxidized molecules are biodegraded (converted into carbon dioxide, water and biomass by microorganisms).
Other benefits include:
Safe for use in landfill, leaving no harmful residues such as heavy metal contamination or residual polymer fragments and can also be recycled, provided the material has not already started to degrade.
Safe for use in sensitive environments such as food processing and retains all of the bubble films superb cushioning and protective performance.
Significantly cheaper than PLA starch based alternatives and uses substantially less fossil fuel in the manufacturing process, making it far kinder to the environment overall.
