Henna is a leaf dye which enhances the natural properties of your hair to restore flexability, volume and vividness, in this case a very

COLOURFUL AND VIBRANT RED.

A great way to change your hair colour without the use of excessive chemicals - does cover grey and looks so much more natural than other chemical dyes as works with the hairs natural shade rather than just blocking on a colour.

Fades naturally but the colour deepens with regular applications. I do mine every 8-10 weeks or so. It makes my hair healthy, shiney and looks and feels terrific.

The amount you need will vary - the model uses 2 packs at a time, but her hair is very thick and long. In the pic she used 2 packs and left them for over an hour.

Instructions
Use off the boil kettle water to mix to a paste. You can also use cooled down black/red tea. Aim for the consistancy of thick yoghurt. If you have an electric hand mixer they do a great job of mixing it smoothly ! As with all dyes it is recommended that you do a strand test first.
Use gloves to apply.( not supplied ) The instructions say do bit by bit etc. I don't. I do my parting and brow with the henna on a thick pastry brush. The I sort of section it loosely, plop the henna on with my hand, spread it down the thick strand and roll it into the middle. When I get bored with this I just plop the rest on in handfuls, rub it all about until everything looks covered and thats it.

Wash off any residue on the skin promptly once you have applied the henna to your hair. Once it's on your hair, bring it all up into the centre. Wrapping your hair area in cling film or using a disposable shower cap over the hair seems to help it "cook ". Do all this, then wrap your hair in a towel and wait for the time you want to. When you come to rinse it off, use warm water at first to loosen it, then shampoo. When all the powder is out, condtion loads. This helps the colour to set and also stops the hair going brittle if you have any chemical dye residue in your hair.

These are just my own ramblings about how I do it.

There are "proper" instructions on the packet.

Not suitable for eyelashes or eyebrows, tattoos or dying other hairy body parts. This is a henna based hair dye and is not suitable for body art
