1 ESCALLONIA GOLDEN ELLEN,Escallonia 'Gold Ellen' has evergreen brightly variegated green leaves with strong golden colouring. Useful as a hedge plant in very mild areas. Bearing bright pink flowers from summer. Flower is not as profuse as other escallonias, more useful for the colour of foliage. Very popular and striking plant. Plant in moist, well-drained fertile soil, in a sunny or partially shaded position. Frost hardy to -5C, fast growing and easy to keep in shape by pruning mid to late spring. The picture does not show the extent of the variegation that you get early in the year.
