1 Day Course - Flying Lessons in a Glider

GLIDING DAY COURSE

Looking for a new hobby or an unusual challenge? Why not try a one day gliding course at Norfolk Gliding Club. Courses are a great way of learning how to glide and offer a fantastic experience which will never be forgotten!

 The course will be in a two-seater glider with a British Gliding Association qualified instructor, launching behind a tow plane (aerotow) to 2000ft, or by winch to about 1200ft, you will be given a combination of ground briefings and hands on flying training which help you experience the exhilaration of flying above the Norfolk countryside. Silent flight, no engine, sustaining flight by using nature's energy created by 'thermals' - columns of warmer air rising from the ground. 

The voucher entitles the holder to a standard one day course which includes;

2 aerotows of 3000ft, plus 2 aerotows of 2000ft**, and 100 days temporary club membership, allowing you to return to the club to continue learning to fly, these subsequent flights are charged at visitor rates. 

After obtaining your voucher you (or the recipient of the gift) will need to book your flight on a suitable day, this information is provided with the voucher.  Lessons can be booked most days of the week at any time of year.

Participants must be over 13yrs old and between 4'11'' and 6' 2", weight not exceeding 17st.  Medical fitness is similar to that required to drive a car.

**Type of launch is subject to availability, whilst every endeavour is made to provide an aerotow facility, weather conditions and other variables may prevent this.  In these circumstance winch launches will be offered at a rate of 2 winch launches for each aerotow.
