This ethereal ring is set with a certificated, natural, earth-mined cushion-cut diamond. It weighs a considerable 1.00 carat and possesses excellent finish grade. This diamond is of exceptional white colour D, which means that it is the most perfect white colour possible. Its colour could not be improved upon and this is the highest colour-grade that any diamond can be awarded. It is of perfect Internally Flawless (IF) clarity. Therefore, it is a totally transparent diamond, which is completely free of inclusions. This is the highest possible diamond clarity-grade. (Please see GIA chart below for further information on colour and clarity.) The cushion-cut is an unusual, antique cut, with large facets. It has a marvellously romantic and classic look, as it was developed in the late 19th century, when diamonds sparkled only by candlelight. Standards for cushion cut diamonds vary widely. They can vary from almost square, to long and rectangular, and with differing proportions. Much is left to personal taste. Because of the large open facets of the cushion cut, try to buy the best quality stone that you can afford. The shoulders are set with a pair of tapered baguette-cut diamonds, of approximate D / IF quality. Together, these shoulder diamonds weigh a total of 0.30 carat. They make an elegant and well-balanced frame for the central diamond. The shank is heavily-made of solid, fully-hallmarked platinum 950, the noblest of the precious metals. When you wear platinum, the other precious metals fade in significance: It is non-allergenic and has a density and richness that is second-to-none.
