Takara World Tank Museum 1:144 Scale Pre-Built and Painted Military Vehicles - WTM-05 Wittmann SO4 CASE SPECIAL

This is your opportunity to own a miniature model of a German WWII Sd.Kfz.181 Tiger I, Ausf.E bearing the turret number S04 in red numerals. It comes with 5 painted crew figures including one representing the celebrated German tank ace SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer Michael Wittmann.  It has a weathered winter white wash over a green base coat and kill stripes on the barrrel.  To increase the authentic battle worn condition it has been modelled with several outer road wheels missing.

The photographs shown here represent Wittmann after his receipt of the Knight's Cross on 14 January 1944 with his successful Tiger I crew. The rings on the gun marked the total number of tank kills, which at the time of the publicity photograph stood at 88. From left to right the crew comprised: Wittmann, Balthasar "Bobby" Woll, Werner Irrgang (radio operator), Josef Robner (loader) and Eugen Schmidt (driver).   At the time, the crew were each decorated with the Iron Cross First Class.

Wittmann was ultimately creditted with 141 tank kills and an astonishing 132 anti-tank gun kills.  Holder of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords, he was the most decorated German tank commander of WWII.

Each come from a limited-run ‘World Tank Museum' series, featuring ranges of World War II military vehicles. Pre-painted, fully assembled and ready to go, these miniatures are perfectly suited to both the collector and war-gamer. The Tiger I model measures 45mm long excluding the gun.
