CafeReo Desk-Top: 1/144 Pre-Assembled and Painted Replicas of Japanese Army and Navy Warbirds From Late W.W.II. CASE SPECIAL

This is your opportunity to own a miniature 1/144 Japanese Nakajima B6N2 Tenzan. Model #13X has a dark green upper finish with silver underside and all scarlet tail plane. The model comes as shown in the photograph with all insignia and decals applied during manufacture.

The B6N Tenzan is approximately 73 mm in length with a wing span of 100 mm. It comes with a black painted torpedo, not shown on the photograph.

SERIES OBSERVATIONS

Made from high quality injection moulded plastic, there are a total of 13 models to collect in this late war Japanese warbirds series (Volume 1). There are 9 basic models + 4 limited Case Specials - models No 2X, 5X, 10X and 13X, each special amounting to only 2.5% of the production run.

Each model comes fully pre-painted and assembled. Only minor parts need installation, for example, weapons, drop tanks, and undercarriage. These come on a separate sprue and are fully prepainted. Each model has alternative parts allowing them to be completed with the undercarriage raised or lowered. Each has an optional black plastic flying display stand.

Minor modelling skills plus the use of a sharp knife and liquid cement are necessary for completing the replicas. This makes these unsuitable for children under 14 years of age.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Nakajima B6N Tenzan “Heavenly Mountain”, Allied name Jill, was the Imperial Japanese Navy's standard torpedo bomber for the final years of World War II. It was a development of the Nakajima B5N and replaced that aircraft in service. Although a highly-effective torpedo bomber, by the time it reached service, the U.S. Navy had already achieved air superiority over the Pacific, and the type never really had the opportunity to display its full potential..
