This charming ring is set with a certificated, natural, earth-mined round marquise-shape diamond. It weighs a respectable 0.50 carat and possesses excellent finish grade.
This diamond is of exceptional white colour D, which means that it is the most perfect white colour possible. Its colour could not be improved upon and this is the highest colour-grade that any diamond can be awarded. It is of very good VS2 clarity, so it is a particularly transparent diamond - totally clean to the naked eye. (Please see GIA chart below for further information on colour and clarity.) The marquise-shape diamond was first commissioned by King Louis XIV of France, to epitomize the Marquise de PompadourÂ’s beautiful smile. This diamond shape gives an unusual, contemporary and sophisticated appearance to a ring. It combines all the best elements of brilliant-cut and oval diamonds - rolled into one, gorgeous stone. It displays the animated fieriness and lustre of a brilliant-cut diamond, yet its elongated shape is particularly flattering to wide, short or average-length fingers. The shank is heavily-made of solid, fully-hallmarked, rich 18ct white gold, to best compliment the pure whiteness of the diamonds. The ring is currently UK size L (USA size 6), but could easily be resized to fit, by your local high-street jeweller, if necessary.
This ring is truly lovely, particularly as the diamond is of perfect colour D and with excellent cut: It is bursting with radiant beams of dazzling white light, regardless of the lighting conditions. The classic and simple design of the ring allows the splendid diamond to take centre stage. It comes complete with a certificate from the world-renowned European Gemmological Laboratory. EGL is the largest network of gemmological laboratories in the world: Since 1974, it has been the premier authority on diamond certification, supplying the jewellery trade with critical information about diamonds. A diamond certificate from EGL means your diamond has been subjected to highly scientific evaluation, by a distinguished team of gemmologists, using state-of-the-art instrumentation and computer technology, to ensure the most accurate assessment of the diamond you are buying. Their certificate states that the diamond is of D colour and VS2 clarity. An appraisal for insurance purposes is also supplied, which values the ring at £3,700.
